An unlucky day

 One Saturday morning, when Margaret woke up, she looked at her window and saw a beautiful day. When she got out of bed and was making her way towards her door, she slipped on her little brother George's toy car. Long story short, she sprained her ankle and was rushed to the hospital before she even had breakfast. 

When they got home, everyone except Maggie was busy getting ready for work or football practice and an hour later Maggie was all alone in her big house. Then she decided to watch some TV. But as soon as she took the remote, the power went out in the whole town

So with the help of her crutches, she went to her room to get a Jane Austen book titled Emma to read. She was fascinated by the book and almost forgot her worries. Just then, Maggie's friends, Kate and Ashley came to her house. They were supposed to play detectives together but went on without Maggie when they saw her condition.

Maggie felt bored after that and decided to go to the backyard for some juice. When she got there, she remembered that she had forgotten to bring the orange juice and went inside to get some. As soon as she stepped outside, it began pouring. She went inside to continue her book. She was there for hours and before she knew it she was all alone in the dark with nothing but a flashlight that was flickering. It was around 7 PM and her family weren't back yet. She was scared and cold and just then, the flashlight went off. Now she was really scared and thought that all hope was lost. Just then, the lights came back on and her parents' car pulled up in the  driveway and seconds later everything was back to normal. Maggie was relieved and got her night time routine done and was ready for bed. When she got into her bed, she hoped that the next day would be better and closed her eyes.
